Milas Museum
A regional museum opened in 1987. It houses Carian, Roman, and Byzantine period artifacts from excavations at Mylasa, Labraunda, Euromos, and Iasos.
Milas Carpet Museum
A museum of Milas carpet weaving, known since the 17th century. Looms, weaving techniques, and distinctive patterns — a collection with few equals in Turkey.
Belen Camii
Built in the 14th century; a small mosque at the foot of Hisarbaşı hill, believed to have been converted from an ancient church. The antique columns inside are striking.
Firuz Bey Mosque (Kurşunlu / Sky Mosque)
Built in 1394 by Firuz Bey, the Beylik-era governor, this magnificent structure is known as the "Sky Mosque" for its lead-covered dome and bluish marble facade.
Gümüşkesen Monument
A 2nd century CE Roman monumental tomb standing 8.45 meters high; a gray and white marble masterpiece thought to be a smaller copy of the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus.
Baltalı Kapı
The northern gate of ancient Mylasa; the double-headed axe (Labrys) on the keystone is the sacred symbol of Caria. Built in the 1st century BCE.
Ağa Mosque (Hasır Mosque)
Built in 1737 by Hacı Abdülaziz Ağa, this modest Ottoman mosque is also known as the Hasır Mosque. An elegant structure featuring stone arches and fine woodwork.
Beçin Castle and Medieval City
The capital of the Menteşe Beydom, UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List (2012). A 200-meter-high inner fortress dominating the plain, with a 550-decare medieval city both inside and outside the walls.
Ahmed Gazi Medrese and Mausoleum (Stone Artifacts Museum)
A medrese built in 1375 by Ahmed Gazi, known as the "Sultan of the Seas." Following restoration, it now serves as the Stone Artifacts Museum and houses Ahmed Gazi's mausoleum.
Euromos Ancient City
One of Asia's best-preserved Zeus temples, with 16 columns still standing. An ancient city easily accessible among the olive groves.
Labraunda Ancient City
The national sacred sanctuary of Caria. A sacred complex hidden in the mountains, dedicated to Zeus Labraundos—the god of the double axe—and a masterpiece developed under Mausolos and Idrieus.
Iasos Ancient City
An ancient harbor town jutting out like a peninsula into the Gulf of Güllük. With its theater, agora, fishing heritage, and hilltop fortress, it's a small but richly layered ancient city.
Herakleia Ancient City (Latmos)
On the shore of Lake Bafa, nestled at the foot of the Beşparmak Mountains. With its Temple of Athena, agora, and monasteries, one of Turkey's most mystical ancient cities.
Yediler Monastery
A Byzantine monastery on the shores of Lake Bafa. Reached by a 2 km mountain hike through the Latmos crags; here you'll find frescoed ruins scattered among the rocks.
