Özbekler House, with more than 200 years of history, stands as one of the finest preserved examples of Turkish civil architecture in Muğla. It catches the eye with its masterful woodwork and the traditional "hayat" courtyard layout.\n\nIn 1987, the Muğla Chamber of Architects awarded it the "Best Preserved and Living Heritage" award — a testament to how faithfully the restorations adhered to the original fabric. During the repairs, the wooden balconies, door details, and courtyard layout were renewed according to the standards of the era; in short, exactly as a 19th-century Muğla house should be built.\n\nToday it functions as the municipality office, so the interior is closed to visitors; however, you can enter the courtyard and examine the exterior façade up close.
