Knidos

An ancient city with two harbors at the western tip of Caria; famous for astronomy and the cult of Aphrodite.

Situated at the end of the Datça Peninsula, Knidos is remembered for its two distinct harbors and its world-famous statue of Aphrodite. Praxiteles' sculpture became a pilgrimage destination throughout the ancient world. The astronomer Eudoxus also lived here.
